Although Ms. Noh painted Moon jar, Moon, and furthermore, the Cosmos realistically, her artworks are shown the forms of abstraction. She achieves the effect by limited usage of color and simplifying the shapes of objects. Especially the materials she chose to use, such as Korean paper, ink sticks, nacre, and gold leaf, which are Korean traditional art materials, increase the effect to make the works to be defined as her own. Usually, when you digitalize the original artworks, such materials don’t appear as much as the artist desires. It raises my curiosity to see her art works in person.

Even though the sizes of the artworks are relatively large, Mr. Oh presents amazingly detailed description in each part of the landscape in his artworks. It leads me appreciating his profound patient and inner power, like he is seemly in a deep meditation upon emptiness in Buddhism. The accurate description of texture is the most astonishing part among the art elements that he presented in his artworks. In the series that he combined landscape with figure, I see that he pushes his creative visions into a space carrying the viewer into a surreal of illusion.
